Katsina, Nigeria – January 30, 2025 – Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has officially announced a significant increase in the monthly allowance for corps members. Effective from February 2025, corps members will receive N77,000, a substantial rise from the previous N33,000.
Speaking to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina, Ahmed confirmed that this increase is part of the 2025 Federal Government budget. While the adjustment does not cover January 2025, the DG assured that the revised payment would commence once the budget is approved.
Ahmed urged corps members to remain dedicated and committed throughout their service, emphasizing that the Federal Government’s support requires their hard work and patriotism. Additionally, he reassured them that the NYSC would no longer post corps members to locations with security risks, prioritizing their safety.
This announcement marks a significant improvement in the welfare of corps members, reflecting the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and national development.
