Action Items from October 5, 2004 ACER Kickoff
- Develop a sensor workshop.
- Undertake visits to key partners.
- Formulate task plan/SOW.
- Define the CoE's Charter.
- Formulate the Advisory Board.
- Devise a management plan (or settle on the existing plan from the proposal if this is still considered to be appropriate).
- Establish links with the relevant ASHRAE subgroup.
- Establish a framework that accommodates both public and sensitive data and establishes a firewall between these. Also, this framework needs to distinguish between data that is sensitive for commercial IP and national security reasons and can handle both appropriately. Establishing suitable technology partnerships would address these needs.
- Integrate ASHRAE 1262 with the CoE.
- Determine if there is also the need for a workshop on the DeFazio 5.
- Develop a long-term plan and integrate this with the CoE's charter.
- Reach out to the other key academic players (and follow up with those with whom contact has already been made).
- Recognize that fast action is needed on a subset of the five drivers.
- Clearly define an "incident" and how the use of this term depends on context.
- Establish regular telecons amongst the core members.
- Conduct industry telecons (these would involve the people from the core team most relevant to the company concerned, not necessarily the whole core team).
- Investigate use of Netmeeting and similar technologies to minimize travel.
- Core members should meet with their grants officers and discuss the paperwork required for CoE operation.
